District Administration Overview
Introduction

This document reviews the features available to District Account Administrators to help coordinate and monitor the use of Symphony Math.

If you do not have a district account, please contact your Symphony Learning representative to inquire about enrollment.

Sign In

To access the District Administration panel, use the 'School Login' button from the main Symphony Learning web site at www.symphonylearning.com. Enter your district account #, username and password that were sent to you in an email from Symphony Learning.

The look and feel of the District Administration panel is very similar to the School Administration panel. The differences, outlined below, provide additional features that add more high-level features to help district administrators manage their schools.

'Schools' Tab

The 'Schools' tab replaces the 'School' tab that School administrators see.

The Schools tab allows district administrators to perform the following functions:

  • Add Schools to their district:
    • Click 'Add School'
    • Enter the information for the school, and the School Account Administrator that will have School Account Administrator access for that school.
    • Click 'Save Changes' to add the school.
  • Distribute licenses in different amounts to each school:
    • The fields in the 'Concurrent Users' column define how many students are allowed to use Symphony Math at any one time.
    • Enter new totals, and click 'Save Changes' to save the information.
  • Change general information and School Account Administrator usernames and passwords for each school:
    • Click on a school name
    • Edit the school and/or administrator information
    • Click 'Save Changes' to save the new information.
School Assignments

District administrators can define the school associated with any student, teacher, or administrator. In the example below, the student is associated with the 'Gates Middle School'. To change the school, district administrators select a different school from the pulldown menu and click 'Save Changes'.

Importing

The Import tab allows district administrators to import a list of students, teachers, and classes into the Symphony administration system. To import students from multiple schools, define the appropriate School Account # in the first column of the import template.

Program Access

In addition to the changes to the online administration panel, district administrators can use their account #, username, and password in the Symphony Math program to allow any student to sign in to the Symphony Math program.

For example, if Symphony Math is used at a central district office, district administrators can use their account #, username, and password instead of an individual school account's information. As a result, students will first choose their school when Symphony Math is started:
